Did you know that there are all kinds of turquoise types from all over the world? We use a variety of blue and green turquoise here at Third & Co. Studio, but one of our favorites is Sleeping Beauty Turquoise; which comes from the United States. It is from the Sleeping Beauty mine near Globe, Arizona. Since the early 1970s, this mine was a major producer of turquoise. Artisans and jewelry companies love this turquoise for its lack of matrix and reliable even coloring. The Sleeping Beauty mine was closed in 2012, making its turquoise even more valuable!
